Family Pastor

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Family Pastor will serve as an elder at Hope Church and oversee our children and student ministries. He will give primary focus to supporting our parents as they seek to disciple their children and raise them up with a knowledge and love for God. This support will include teaching the Bible to our kids regularly, along with discipling them in prayer, worship, and evangelism. Their role also includes but is not limited to:
  • Planning and leading the church along with the other elders
  • Assist with yearly ministry reviews & planning 
  • Participate in elder meetings
  • Work alongside the other elders in the spiritual formation of the church
  • Oversee and manage the regular ministry gatherings (Sunday morning for Hope Kids, Sunday night for Hope Students) to maximize impact.
  • Plan the biblical teaching that happens during ministry gatherings, ensuring alignment with the church's vision and theological beliefs. 
  • Teach on a regular rotation along with other qualified volunteer leaders.
  • Actively serve and participate in Hope Kids ministry on Sunday mornings.
  • Oversee and manage the breakout group time that happens both in Hope Kids and Student ministry.
  • Manage the administration, e-mails, and other ministry communication.
  • Train and recruit volunteer adult leaders.
  • Oversee the assimilation of new kids and students and their families into the ministry.
  • Plan any special events, camps, retreats, and mission trips that aim to supplement the weekly ministry.
  • Oversee and manage the Hope Kids and Students budget and ministry resources.

Work Requirements:
  • Must be a Ministry Partner of Hope Church.
  • Agrees with the theology, vision, and philosophy of Hope Church.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Theology is preferred.
  • Meet the elder qualifications listed in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1.
  • 2-3 years of ministry experience preferred.
  • Ordained or be a candidate for ordination (certification)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively
    with children, parents, and volunteers.
  • Demonstrates an ability to lead and equip others.
  • 40-50 hours weekly 
  • Proven ability to handle and teach the Scriptures rightly.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to perform the essential job functions of the position description safely and successfully.   
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance.
  • Must be able to talk, listen, and speak clearly.
